Biology: CELL THEORY
Every organism including bacteria, virus, fungi, insects, plants, animals, human beings are made up of cells. Cell is the smallest structural unit of each living individual.  The cell theory forms the foundation of biology.  Robert Hooke discovered cell in 1665.  He was able to invent cell when he was investigating the thin slices of cork and found millions and billions of tiny pores in it.

After the discovery of cell by Robert Hooke, many definitions in order to define cell were given.  According to the cell theory, the new cells keep on adding inside the body and keep on replacing the old and dead cells.  Everyday hundreds of cells inside of our body die and new cells take the place of the dead cells.

Dead cells are removed from the body through various means.  In the human beings, dead cells are removed from our body in the form of hair and nails.  Our nails and hair grows every day.  People who have a good growth of their nails and hair dailies dead cells in a larger quantity then people who have a low growth.
Cell theory is based on three principles:

  • All the living organisms are made up of one or more than one cell.
  • The newer cells exist from the already existing cells.
  • Cells form the basic unit of life for every living organism.

Any living organism cannot exist without the existence of cells inside him.  Cell theory is applied to each living organism present in this universe.

Stem cells are now important for the future health of your child. Thier stem cells are sampled during the first few years of after birth and can be stored for up to 25 years. For more information check out this Stem Cell Storage site.
