Biology: HISTORY

Biology is the study of all the living creatures on the earth. According to biological definition, everything in a universe that is living is made up of cells. Biology does not study matter or objects that are dead or non-living. Its history ca is traced from the study of all living species on the earth from ancient to today’s world. All the organisms that have existed on this earth or still exist are included in biology.

Cell forms the basic structure of every living being on this earth. It is the smallest building block of human body. Biology was initially associated with the natural history and medicinal traditions.

Biology was revolutionized in Europe during the time of renaissance. Biology also undertakes fossil records. Even the animals and plants that have excited hundreds of years ago are till studied in biology. Biology helps us to understand the basic structure of the body of a living creature. Natural selection process stated by Charles Darwin’s helps in understanding the mating process of different living organisms.

Charles Darwin has contributed a lot in understanding the concept of evolution. He explained that living organisms keep on modifying themselves in the newer species according to their need and requirements. For example, a giraffe that we found in ancient times did not have as long necks as found in the giraffes of today. Evolution process made it easy to understand how human being has modified himself from a monkey to what he is today.
