Science Fiction: RELATED GENRES
Related genres of science fiction

Ever since man found out that he had a talent for storytelling, especially when there was a credulous audience to appreciate these tales, the idea of an alternating brand new world always came up.  This was a world of fantasy, horror, mystery, and excitement, and all could come under the genre of, "yes, this could be possible."
For who would imagine that there were Rocs who picked up men, and deposited them in the valley of diamonds.  On the other hand, if the bird happened to be a possible giant pterodactyl or an Andes condor with a wingspan of 11 to 15 feet, this imaginary fantasy could possibly be real.  That is the reason why in the 18th and 19th century when man began to ponder upon more brand new worlds out there, which is full of mystery, and excitement, that was the beginning of real science fiction.  This was due to the fact that scientific discovery had made it possible for people to imagine worlds beyond the earth.
The Sun did not revolve around the earth, and there are very many planets out there.  So what was to stop Voltaire in the 17th-century to imagine a friend who came to the earth from Jupiter and was thousands of feet high? Micromegas was just an average Jupitarian with his own quirks, fancies, and ideas of the social structure of the place he was visiting, Earth.  There was no mystery in this story, but there was plenty of excitement and imaginative details in the fantasy.  That is the reason why, the genres, which are related to science fiction include mystery, fantasy, horror, and any other genre, which has a little bit of knowledge about scientific technology mixed with an exciting and romantic storyline.
