Science Fiction: SUB GENRES
Know more about the subgenres of science fiction
There are many subs genres in science fiction, out of which some are given below –
Hard science fiction; this fiction subgenre is normally written by people, who are quite well versed in the laws of physics, mathematics and chemistry. The precise application of the law is conducive to creating a situation, which can ensure space travel and other activities in space. The robots and alien cultures are entirely incidental, but if one goes by the laws of probabilities and possibilities, there is always the chance that a parallel universe is existing, somewhere out there. Such stories are tackled in social science fiction, alternate history, soft science fiction & cyberpunk.
Alternate history can also talk about matters, which might have happened upon this earth, for example, what might have happened if the nuclear stand-off in the 60s took place. The events which would then change the face of the history of mankind could be described in apocalyptic science fiction. Some human beings affected by nuclear fallout would become superhuman, and their story would be written in superhuman fiction.
These brainy men would be so technologically advanced, that they would think up plans to create even more dangerous aircraft, and this procedure would be described in military science fiction. The aftermath of the Apocalypse would be tackling in horror fiction, speculative fiction and fantasy, especially if the nuclear fallout created winged creatures out of normal human beings. In addition, if anybody wanted to go into the history of these winged creatures, their trials, their tribulation and their romances, one could make space opera science fiction books out of their story a la Star Wars, with Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa like characters.
